Manuel Jose thinks hosts Angola can shine at the Africa Cup of Nations
Hosts Angola against Mali in the opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations will be the first ever game at the 11 de Novembro National Stadium.
Angola coach Manuel Jose has two injury worries ahead of the game. striker Flavio and Stelvio Rosa da Cruz.
Mali's only concern is Barcelona's Seydou Keita who missed the Eagles' warm-up games with a thigh problem.
The Eagles' Nigerian coach Stephen Keshi says his team can go all the way and win the Nations Cup.
"My only fear now is injury worries, otherwise we are set. I can beat my chest and say we can play in the final," he said.
Jose, seen by many as one of the greatest ever coaches in African football following his exploits with Egyptian giants Al Ahly, is confident Angola can blossom in the continental showpiece.
"We have a solid and united team which is growing game by game," the Portuguese coach said.
"The team has improved so much since June, it's a completely different team."
"It is my big concern that Flavio recovers and is available to play against Mali.
"He, together with Stelvio, are important to our starting line-up because we don't have any stars in our team and need everyone to be fit."
