Tanzania’s sole representative in this year’s edition of Kenya pen Hassan Kado returned a six over 77 at the end of the opening round played at the Karen Country Club in Nairobi yesterday.

Kadio who teed off at the tenth, produced a flawless back nine performance to reach the18th with level par 36.

He also continued to play well with an avalanche of pars up to the the parfour second before trouble started from the subsequent holes.

He lacked reslience and the hot afternoon gave him  hectic moment as the sixlast holes proved him wrong. He needs to work above the call of duty if he is to make the cut in today’s crucial second round. By the time he finished, he was ried with several other players at the 133rd position.

Unless he brings five under par score in today’s, Kadio will be like the rest of other Tanzanians who missed the cut insince 2004.

He was not available for comment but scscores through the internet showed he was on course to rbing a formidable total after a rollercoaster back nine show that was even.

Kenya’s Dismas Indiza ended the opening round with two under par and he is one of the hopefuls for today’s crucial second round cut.

The 72-hole tournament winds up o Sunday and only a tird of the 153 competitrs will be through to play the last two rounds starting tomorrow. The third of the entrants will scramble for the Euros 195, 000 courtesy of Barclays Bank.
